Welcome to Tokyo Hotel Map (“the site”, “we”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. The short version: the site is a free research tool — bookings happen on partner sites under their terms, and travel times and prices are estimates you should confirm before relying on them.
What the site is (and isn't)
Tokyo Hotel Map helps you find Tokyo hotels by train travel time to the places you plan to visit. We are not a travel agency or booking agent: we never take reservations, payments, or payment details. When you click through to a booking partner (currently Rakuten Travel), any reservation is a contract between you and that partner or the hotel, governed by the partner's own terms and privacy policy.
Accuracy of information
- Travel times are typical timetable estimates, not live routing. Real journeys vary with delays, transfers, walking speed, and time of day. Don't rely on them for time-critical plans — check a live journey planner.
- Prices and availability can be outdated. Default prices are indicative batch data; live prices for your dates are fetched from the partner, and multi-night totals may be estimated (marked “est.”). The price shown on the partner's booking page is the one that counts — always confirm it there.
- Hotel details (names, locations, ratings, photos) come from partner and open data sources and may contain errors. We provide everything on the site with reasonable care but without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness.
Affiliate links
Booking links on the site are affiliate links: if you book after clicking one, the partner pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
Acceptable use
Use the site for personal, non-commercial trip planning. Don't scrape or bulk-download the site or its APIs, probe or disrupt the service, misrepresent the site as your own, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access that harms the service or other users.
Intellectual property
The site's design, text, and code are ours or our licensors'. Hotel data and photos belong to their respective owners (e.g., Rakuten Travel and the hotels). Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License; map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap.
Third-party sites
The site links to third-party websites (booking partners, translated hotel pages, map providers). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or how they handle your data.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is” and free of charge, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site — including decisions made on the basis of estimated travel times or prices, booking outcomes on partner sites, or temporary unavailability of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or affects mandatory consumer rights you may have.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site evolves (for example, when new booking partners or features are added) and will note the new effective date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tokyo, Japan, unless mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
